Pokemon Leaf Green-Blue’s misadventures Part 1

By Stranded Geek at Spinfire studios

Chapter 1: Blue’s story

Welcome to the world of Pokemon. I kind of wanted to do a review/story narrative of the game that I was replaying Pokemon Leaf Green. Now technically it’s not a replay I just call it that because I’ve already finished everything in Fire Red minus doing the catch phrase ‘Gotta Catch ‘em all!’ because I haven’t yet. But I got bored playing Leaf and decided to do some goofy stuff and now I want to write it down. As I’m right now of this chapter I currently camping out the pokemon center near the entrance of the fitting name Dark Cave near Cerulean City. A lot has happened despite being the early part of the game so the first few chapters are gonna be catching up. I’m also gonna spare you some minor details like how I constantly ran around the world looking for that one pokemon I didn’t catch, the level grinding and other stuff I’ll deem to boring to talk about. Just assume logically if my current team of six pokemon change that it’s not inconstancy it’s me cutting down bullcrap for the sake of sanity. Oh and one last thing there is certain thing that isn’t in the remake I will bring up because…leaving this guy out wouldn’t be nearly as much fun.

Also note that I’m playing it how I would when I have fun so that means yes…I’m a cheating dork who wouldn’t last 5 minuets against your maxed out Mewtwo that has perfect IVs or whatever. I’ll be making my own jokes and references and while sure many of you may get excited…I don’t follow Twitch Play’s or do Nuzlocks that kind of thing. But I will placate you by making the only joke I know right now: I did not remember to consult the Helix fossil. So as my character is taking nap while Nurse Joy patches up my critters for free she starts to reflect on just how screwed she is because of what lies head and how things got this far. I picked the girl character, it doesn’t matter which gender minus a few dialog changes but nothing vital. Contrary to popular belief her name is not Leaf. By canon her name is Green, well it is in America, she was actually Blue in Japan. Because originally Red & Green were made, hence the remakes names, but they had a lot of bugs so Game Freak released Pokemon Blue with fixes and updates and then used that version for the International release. The Rival Boy known by Anime watchers as Gary he was Green but was changed to Blue. The Pokemon Adventure Manga also followed this trend. See in the Manga there were characters based on the playable characters and named after the versions. You might have seen some of the art work for it with the card games too that Red aka Ash had a bulbasaur, while Gary had a charmander while some girl in a black dress had Squirtle this was the girl you can now play as in the remake.

I’m going Japanese in this case so I will be the girl because I like boobs and she will be named Blue. And Gary shall be Green from now on. Well at the very mature age of …Ten, I’m about to do what my mother learned on TV and travel the world like all girls dream of. That and how sexy L from Death Note is. Having grabbed my purse and my allowance I decided to talk to everyone and then leave but because some idiot didn’t mow the law there’s wild pokemon just outside of town. Professor Oak stops me and says “It’s Dangerous to go alone.” And drags me into his lab to give me my first companion. His bratty grandson that nobody can’t stand is also here. Even Oak doesn’t want to remember his name that’s how bad he is. He explains he was quite the adventurer himself and now only has 3 pokemon left. …Kind of went down hill in your old age huh there Oak? So here we go my first Pokemon who will be my loyal friend until the end. I’m not going with the obvious  choice, everybody thinks dragons are cool but…Charizard isn’t dragon type he’s fire/flying. HE’S A FAKE MAN! And yes I know about the Kalos region but this is Leaf Green not The Chromosome gen. Games. Well between him, and a creature that science can’t decide if it’s plant or animal I’m going with Squirtle because I am Blue. And because he is male I will name him Gamera for two reasons: He’ll become a giant turtle of utter destruction and is a friend to little kids.

And here we go the tutorial Battle right here in the lab it’s not as if anything expensive or important is here right? Well Green true his name picks Bulbasaur because he thinks he’ll have type advantage. Well…he kind of missed the chapter on battling that I happened to pay attention to when I was in school getting my license to train. Type advantage only works…if you have an actual elemental attack to use against them! So naturally I kick his butt. Apparently he likes me though, must be Blue’s new perfume because he likes to say he’ll smell me later like some kind of creep.  So time for the first fetch quest Gamera naturally smack a few birds around because I had a bad encounter with a giant one when I was little so I have developed a phobia of them. In fact it creeps me out that I will eventually have to capture some later. Since my town just have two houses and a lab I need to got Viridian City to get some supplies a shop keep gave me directions and a free complimentary potion too.

I was also very nicely given a map by Daisy, Green’s older sister when I stop by her house to say good bye. Despite me being rivals with Green since we were babies Daisy was like the sister I never had. Well the shop in Viridian apparently is also the post office because he gives me a package to deliver to Oak and expects immediate results. So I shall do so! By conveniently jumping over these small ledges that I can’t hop back on because I don’t have the TM to do that…and it won’t be invented for several games. Well having running a fetch quest he gives me and Green our Pokedex the device that will serve the plot of recording every pokemon I find and or capture. I can even track down certain ones in a area too. Oh yes I know this is a bit of a spoiler but when I picked Gamera on my team I felt something weird like this would affect me in the future and not that Green is gonna try to screw me over with type advantages either. Have to be on my guard. Well with that and a short hike back to into Viridian I can now finally stock up on pokeballs and potions, I also stopped by the local school to pick up some notes about status effects and my big one right now is poison since there are some wild poison type pokemon in the area. To the left of Viridian there is a place I really would love to see: the Pokemon League. A huge tournament is held where one challenger fights 4 trainers no breaks involved. The trainers are the best of the best The Elite 4 and they also have a champion who is better than they are. So in this case …There can be only one.

I head to see if I can explore it but I get stopped by Green with Envy himself and he decided to be an even bigger tool by challenging me to a rematch only he caught a new Pidgey knowing full well it would freak me out. Well I already caught one despite my fears and I caught few others including some kind of pig monkey, Mankey, which is a fighting type, a Rattata that isn’t in the top percentage and Spearow which really shows I’ve got a lot of girl balls because it’s evolved form is what freaked me out when I was little or so I remember it was really colorful. I won’t mention every pokemon I get I’m just mentioning it now because despite being my first big thing…I don’t remember what my first capture was. Any way I kick his butt again proving that just because he level grinded a bit doesn’t mean he’s invincible. He tells me that in order to even qualify for the League, to even get past the front door you have to have all 8 badges from special gyms I don’t mean a place were you can work the weight off. Well there is one Viridian but sadly the place is locked with the owner gone on vacation so it’s off to Pewter City instead.

Before I head into the town made of rocks though I have to get through Viridian forest, it’s full bugs and little bug catcher kids who get caught in my Flood of destruction. They however set a standard though, because a lot of Gym Leaders, the head honchos I need to beat to get their badge, they are incredibly vain about the type of pokemon they specialize in. I catch a few bugs but before I leave I decided to stay a bit long because I’ve been told that there is a pokemon that is rare in these parts and if I capture it I’ll have bit of advantage once I level it up. I manage to capture the very iconic Pikachu, it took a while lots of running around but it worth the wait. Oh yes I should mention something I found rather funny, Currently the only 2 cheats I’m using is one for unlimited amount money and a Master code that is meant to allow my cheat codes to work. Well the master code has a few surprises of it’s own I didn’t realize this at first but every pokemon that had a gender I ran into was female, and that EVERY blow that was struck by both me and my opponent scores a critical hit. Every time! So my first few level grinds with Gamera made me really glad I wasn’t doing a Nuzlock challenge.

I probably won’t be using another cheat code minus capturing pokemon that normally isn’t available in this version. I don’t see the need for infinite pokeballs because I technically already have them…I just haven’t bought them yet. True that won’t account for the rare Master Ball but that’s okay I want to have some kind of challenge and fun. Also while I was at that school the student who kind of yelled at me for copying her notes actually brought up a good question. Why do Trainers like myself make pokemon fight? Because this sounds like animal cruelty and abuse in what is basically legal cock fights for my own bragging rights. Well that’s not actually all that true, It’s not a fight to the death it is a fair duel to a defeat. There are rules to ensure you don’t butcher others and naturally there is law enforcement to protect pokemon’s rights. There is Gym Leader named Lt. Surge who was in a war with his pokemon at one time. Basically like in war Lt. Surge was a commanding officer and his Pokemon were his soldiers. Wild pokemon may fight but they wouldn’t be able to understand complex things like strategy like how a hobo wouldn’t really stand a chance against a well trained Marine. These Pokemon want to fight much like humans want to take up martial arts or wrestling, and they too get credit. In fact the League Champion I mention, they go down in the hall of fame and it also records the pokemon who made him or her champion. So it’s not as if pokemon don’t get recognition for all the sweat and tears they go through.  Even Lt. Surge like I mention he acknowledges even brags that it was his pokemon who saved HIS life during that war.

Earlier there was this old guy who hadn’t had his coffee so he decided to camp out blocking the road to the Viridian Forest and he taught me how to capture pokemon he also gave me a free portable TV. This was actually for the newbies who have never played Pokemon before. If you ever wanted rookies to start out I recommend Fire Red or Leaf Green because they have tutorials and if you hit the L & R buttons you can ask random questions that will try to give you some advice one how to progress but not like a hint system or a watered down walkthrough or anything just some FAQs for beginners. The TV is also a reminder of how to capture, battle and other rookie stuff. Still…Something about that old Tutorial guy…hmm… file that a way for a while. Oh while I was grinding off of Bug Pokemon Gamera learned two water attacks: Bubbles and Water Gun…and with Brock the Leader of the Pewter City Gym naturally having a rock theme…well let’s just say it’s going to rain when Blue comes to town.

Chapter 2: Rocket To the Moon.

Pewter City is the first town where you are basically blocked for now but the tutorials are pretty much over. You can stock up on supplies and learn about TMs & HM. Those are moves that pokemon can learn. HMs are special in that they are powerful abilities that let you do special things and help open the world to you more. You might have notice these special small tree that blocks your way even though it looks more pathetic than Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree, you still need the HM Cut which will be your first…but not for a while. There is also something else to note besides the Gym, there is a Museum that has two main exhibits mostly related to the Mountain next to us Mt. Moon. They discovered a mysterious rock that came from space called a Moon Stone and that certain pokemon can evolve from them. I guess if your new I should explain Evolve doesn’t normally mean over hundred years. When a pokemon goes through evolution it is actually going through puberty. And we’re taught that in school, so yeah imagine me a 9 year girl old getting to learn pretty early on that one day I may wake up with bloody sheets.

Speaking of creepy there are also two sets of fossils of some Prehistoric pokemon that really give me an unnerving feeling about them. They also mention that some fossils might still be in Mt. Moon. Well hey that might sound like a nice souvenir so I’ll try to pick one up. However some idiot won’t let me pass because he seems to be really interested in me battling Brock for some reason. Well no putting it off time for my first Gym battle. It’s a simple layout, but Brock is a simple guy. I’ve heard rumors that he constantly hits on every pretty girl he sees he’s even got a restraining order on him his local Nurse Joy. But he must realize I would land him in jail so after kicking his fan girl’s butt, I unleash Gamera on him. His Geodude is pathetic and then he tries to overcompensate for his lack of a girlfriend by showing off his giant snack that’s solid rock . His name is Onyx but rocks can be worn down by water so that’s all she wrote. I now have my first Gym Badge, other than bragging rites these little shiny objects also help your pokemon too. Pokemon understand respect and the gym badges also emit some kind of magical influence because if I let my pokemon become more powerful than I can handle without the right badge they won’t listen to my commands.

They also give me legal permission to use HMs out of battles. With the Bolder Badge I can use HM 5 Flash to illuminate dark areas…which would be pretty useful…except I don’t have it. Good thing Mt. Moon is well lite or we would have a problem. We do meet up one of Oak’s Aids at the East Exit of Pewter City  that has a gift from my mother, see she forgot to give me my running shoes so now I can actually run without tearing up my good heals, it’s not as fashionable but they are incredibly handy at least until I can get a bike. Speaking of good news Gamera after a few fights with some picnicking trainers he goes through his first evolution into Wartortal and he developed a bit of a attitude because he learned a Dark move called Bite. Dark actually means nocturnal not evil. But he still likes his home girl so as we continue to battle are way up the mountain I also do some capturing. I got a Jigglypuff who I named Diva because her singing abilities to make pokemon sleep will come in handing in the Mountain and I also found a Female Nidoran. There’s a male version and yet oddly enough they are considered two separated kinds of pokemon despite the fact that the only difference is color and gender. Well I got cave to spelunk so I’m gonna wait since the male nidorans are apparently shy today. I promise the girl one I’ll catch her a boyfriend later besides we’re tough girls who don’t need no stink’en men around.

There happens to be a PokeCenter near the entrance of the cave and when I started asking around apparently it’s considered dangerous because there are criminals part of a Mob called Team Rocket digging down there. There is also this one guy who says he’d like to sell me this incredibly rare pokemon for 500 bucks. Seems like a good deal but I’m not too sold on the idea. I know what it is actually it’s a Magikarp the most common fish pokemon you get in the game that you’ll be sick of it. It only knows one move naturally a splash attack that really doesn’t do anything but flop around like an idiot. I’ll probably buy him later just so I’ll be merciful from this guy who might abuse him. I actually met a Nurse Joy once when I was little and I wondered how there was so many of them and how they looked the same and why they ran their hospital for free. Well she explains that her family is a rare breed of humans that they believe is a link between the connection of pokemon and humans that we might have be related in one way. Their voices are the same but the shades of pink hair change and some dye it or wear a wig simply due to family traditions. And for the Center they do it out of love of taking care of Pokemon and they financially backed up by the city the same for police and schools. I was 6 so she thankfully put into terms I would understand. I always though that Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys were cloned. Now that would be weird right? Having clones of pokemon or something?

Well no longer putting this off into the cave we go, and sure enough there are Zubats everywhere. Their vampiric too so yay on that. As I dig around a bit I do come across a moon stone like the one I saw in the museum it’s really nice. However as I climb downward more I run into some trouble. Yes Team Rocket is here and they want my moonstone and pokemon or basically to piss off and not bother them. Well in the words of Judge Dread: “I AM… THE LAW!” So I trash them and their weak pokemon but they are not without rank so the later grunts become even harder. I don’t know what kind of trouble I just got myself into but I don’t regret it. I also stumble across both a lovely couple of Clefairies who admire my skills to join me. Their cute so I named them Neil & Woona since legends say they came from outer space and they can evolve with a moonstone. Woona herself will becoming very helpful to me later. Finally we reach the other side and Onward to Cerulean City.

Chapter 3: Water Water Every Where.

I’m glad I got to do whatever it was I wanted in Pewter City because I won’t be going back there for a bit longer. I can’t believe I fought members of Team Rocket and won. Clearing out the path they were bullying a fossil maniac and after calming his butt down with a fight he agrees to share one of the two fossils he’s found Dome and Helix. Well from the shape of them they don’t sound like anything I’ve seen in the museum however the Helix one doesn’t look like ANYTHING I have seen before the Dome one looks like it might be related to the one named Kabutops so in the interest of science I’m going with Helix. Possibly so I can consult it later. There I made that joke again enjoy. Cerulean City has one last tutorial for me and that is this guy about Badges he tells me of the name of all 8 badges and what they can do for me when I win them. They are basically the keys to opening up the rest of the world for me to explore. So eventually the farther I go…the more I can literally go and back track again if I need too.

There’s also this guy who will give me a jar once I have berries but this a multiplayer thing where he crush up barriers into a powder then I’ll get some herbal stuff not really important. What is important is 3 building, The Gym of course and a House next door where a Police officer is blocking the entrance because some dirt bag came in and used some high level pokemon that knows Dig in their house which tore a hole in the place so the whole house is trashed. What is also here is The Bike shop. So I can now purchase a bicycle for me to run around with at greater speed. Except despite my infinite Money cheat code I’m still a dollar short for the extremely over priced Bicycle! I mean this is just a Bicycle no engine or anything. The only way to get it is if I have some kind of coupon. This has lead to a lot of questions of why you can’t buy the bike. They literally coded it into the game that you max amount is 999,999 and it costs you 1 million. Being a nerd and what kind of started this for me was I was rather curious why this was. A million dollar bike does seem outrageous especially because unlike the Hoenn games there’s only one and it doesn’t have anything fancy to it. I however figured out why this, see I’m actually assuming the my money is in Dollars. However this is a Japanese made game and Yen is valued differently there.

So I actually did some Googling. A standard bike with a basket in Japan costs 7,000 Yen now while that seems like a lot if you do the exchange rate it would actually cost that’s about $58.83 in US dollars. A standard Bicycle for 60 bucks sounds about right to me. Misty if you remember in the Anime got her bike trashed and in the Electric Tales of Pikachu Manga that follows the Anime a bit her bike was custom made for 10,000 Yen so that’s about  80 bucks there which you can imagine Ash doesn’t have that kind even if he was using dollars. So to answer your question a 1,000,000 in Yen equals to about $8,404.07 dollars in the USA. Over 8 thousand dollars for a bicycle is still way too much money. I do have a theory on why it is though, Cerulean City is the ONLY place in the game where you can buy a bike if you want one you have to get it here. No where else in Kento is there a bike shop. So there is a monopoly on that kind of thing to stay in business. Also keep in mind that in a world of Cats with Psychic powers, a giant turtle that blasts huge torrents of water from their mouths, and a cute little rat with lighting coming out of it’s cheeks you need a bike built to last and one that will take you every where.

Speaking of Electric mice, I think it’s time to pay Misty of the Cerulean Gym a visit. She actually specializes in water type. Gamera would like this place naturally but he can’t do much, and I was told by the other trainers Misty’s one move of Water Pulse is really powerful and could also confuse me too, making my pokemon think “Use Bite” means “Hit yourself in the face.” However even with that move I actually have a nasty surprise for Misty. See while in the Viridian Forest I picked up a Pikachu and while he is under level compared to Her Staryu and Starmie water conducts electricity so a few Thundershocks take her down with almost no effort. And this my friend is why you pay attention in science class. With my Cascade Badge in hand I can now leave town however…I’ve checked my map and there is a house near the cape almost like a light house which sounds like ideal place to explore. However Green shows up and blocks my path to the bridge. He amusingly challenges me to another battle. His bulbasaur still hasn’t evolve but he has picked up an Abra this fox pokemon that has psychic abilities and native to this area.

I think he was trying to be clever that if he could read my thoughts he would have some kind of advantage. However that was a mistake on his part because I actually had this very catchy tune in my head at the time.

“Ma-ia-hii
Ma-ia-huu
Ma-ia-hoo
Ma-ia-haha

Ma-ia-hii
Ma-ia-huu
Ma-ia-hoo
Ma-ia-haha

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.”

With the Numa Numa song stuck in his Abra’s head I naturally kick his butt once again. This really does bring his ego down because he might seem like a bad trainer but actually true to his word he has been getting better and I don’t just mean his pokemon are stronger. If you check the gym rankings he was there and done long before you showed up. And he’ll always be one step ahead of you. Green maybe a ego centric jerk but he is there to push you along a reminder not to make his mistake by becoming arrogant. He always believes that strong pokemon are better. And that mindset has rewarded him but it still confuses him that I could still defeat him every time. Well showing that he isn’t a total jerk and still arrogantly believes I’ll need all the help I can get he also gives me a new toy. A Fame Checker This is odd little thing and really is more or less just to serve as a data recorder of important trainers to kind of help the world building for noobs. In fact it was so useless not even the Adventure Manga made good use for it, they brought it up ONCE for a gimmick it doesn’t even do in the game and that was it. What it does is record info about famous trainers like Gym Leaders Professor Oak, your rival and you have to find all the entries for it to get a special message from them which isn’t really that big of a deal in the long run.

Speaking of annoying noobs there is a huge series of trainers 5 in all, all over the bridge and they want you to battle them. The good news is unlike the Elite 4 you can take your time taking out each one to go heal. At the end of this gauntlet is a guy who lets slips that our reward is a personal invitation to join…you guessed it: Team Rocket! And while Manga Blue was a thief by trade in the beginning even given some team rocket training along with some punk with red hair that probably isn’t important, my Blue isn’t interested in world domination, no I am loyal only to Gamera who will protect the enviorment and stop criminals like them from hurting children and pokemon alike. Naturally he doesn’t take rejection well so we have to duke it out. Well after shoving his Zubat down his Ekans throat and told to like it I now have the rest of route 24 and 25 to play in. I decided to fight psychic with psychic and pick up an Abra myself but that is kind of hard because low level ones only know how to Teleport and basically run like pansy. So I have Woona who also knows Sing like Diva put one to sleep and then try to capture it.
However I feel rather cheated in my reward in kicking that Rocket Grunt’s arse because Route 25 is also nothing but a huge gauntlet of even MORE trainers. I know that there will always be trainers who want to fight me but this seems over kill. You can actually avoid battles which amusingly I think this was how the creators of Metal Gear Solid got their ideas because when you get caught in the vision of a trainer they have exclamation point show over their head. Which is probably why they made that joke in Brawl about how Snake looks a like trainer too. This also raises my question of why do I have this compulsive need to challenge every little school brat that thinks they got my number? There is literally no way not even in X & Y to refuse a battle with someone unless other wise scripted. You run into a guy and they’ll get pissed at you and demand a battle! Even trainers who just making small talk about how they love pokemon or some weird boy going on about the size of his shorts….

...Anyway we finally get to the lighthouse only to see a Clefairy. Except this one can talk! Turns out his name is actually Bill and that he was testing a science experiment with teleportation machines and pulled “The Fly” so he can’t reach the controls to turn himself back. That or he is really into cosplaying or something…well I’m not hear to judge and despite me being 10 years old I can click a few buttons on a computer. So with a few dings Bill is back to his human self again. He also allows me to see his PC for his favorite Pokemon Eevee and it’s first evolutions. It’s a very special pokemon that has a genetic adaptability to evolve in all kinds of ways. He also gives a ticket to a cruise ship. Hey alright a Cruise to the Bahamas and there’s a party happening. Blue will be checking that out when we get to Vermilion City. Bill himself is special because he invented the storage system we can use on the PC in the Pokemon Centers. You can only have 6 pokemon which seems even you don’t want too many team mates otherwise that will get resource heavy and difficult to manage. But any extra you capture will automatically have a recall to enter the PC and with the added benefit that they will also be instantly healed by the Nurse Staff so win, win. Before you meet him it was marked as Someone’s PC with your name being a place you can store all your spare items like fossils and moonstones you don’t want to lose for later. Naturally Bill is a joke reference to Bill Gates inventor of the Windows Operating System. Suck it Mac users! You and you’re silly little I-tems.
Well with that there’s nothing left for me here in Cerulean City so off I go back down into town. The owners of that house that got broken in to & the cop was nice enough to let me pass and I did find that grunt who broke into the place and whoop his butt too and just for good measure I steal his TM 28 which is the Dig move. So hopefully that will be the end of him. Now down in the south of Route 5 there is a Daycare center. Now this one serves the original purpose but in later games and later in this remake there is another purpose for them. For now this where an old guy will happily take one of your pokemon on your team and raise it for you allow him to do some of the level grinding while you walk around. Basically having one spare member getting leveled up while you work on others. You have pay for it though. Well I don’t need to right now but the thought is nice. There is another Daycare later in the game that has the add bonus of not only raising TWO pokemon for you but you also can Breed. Yes you are encouraging your pokemon to have a mate and well…let’s just say when I get him, Male Nidoran will use Harden while Female Nidoran will use Flash and both will be super effective. What makes this worse is that there is a pokemon named Ditto that became famous for his ability to Mimic others and was designed by Game Freak to basically be a Pimp.

I’ll get into the Pimp pokemon later because…he actually has something important I want to talk about that will explain a few things besides that Pokemon like to do…THAT. There is a place called Saffron City that is one of the biggest places in Kento. In fact their company Silph Co. invented a lot of stuff. It’s been suggested they also invented the modern Pokeball we use instead of hollowed out Apricots. However The guard says that the bridge area is out of order and casually mentions that he is thirsty. And despite looking like a convenient store the Pokemart doesn’t have anything so I can’t go on a pop run. I find this just to be stupid, I mean logically there is a game mechanic reason why you can’t go here yet but like with the bike they just kind of forced the fetch quest of these games just so I have go around the long way. Traffic is being blocked off and your preventing people to get anywhere simply because you hadn’t had your morning coffee! Typical. Well that means I have to take the underground tunnel. Thankfully there isn’t anything down here it’s just a long hallway that will be a short cut to Vermillion City.

I hate the fact I can't do commas in titles for some dumb reasons. Either way Enjoy Part 1 of my wacky adventures of my play through story of Pokemon Leaf Green as Blue takes on the First two Gyms and Mt. Moon. I apologize for any spelling/ grammar mistakes made.

This is cool, it's like reading a travel journal, but about Pokemon, so I can relate to it more.

(I too was disappointed that Charizard is not a dragon, but he's still my first pick.) XD
